WHEN CONVEYING STUFF WITHIN OURSELVES
On passing on messages:
We, at Sociall.in believe in shooting the messenger. Of course, we mostly believe that in a kind of casual way. Let us explain:
We believe that all of us, most of the time, are rational human beings. Therefore, it is highly likely that if someone gives us a piece of information that simply doesn't make sense, we will think twice before passing it on. We discourage employees from passing on bits of instructions that don't make sense. If we're sending something onward, it has to have context, and it should have gone through at least one level of validation to ensure that the instruction is correct, or at the very least, could be correct. For example, during a particularly long social media camapign we wouldn't want one of our team to pass on the message that "their Facebook is not loading, and therfore the multi-billion dollar social network must be down" without actually taking the trouble to verify the claim first.

WHEN CONVEYING INFORMATION TO AND FROM CLIENTS
So, the buisnesses that work with us often come up with diverse sets of instructions. In retrospect, keeping in mind the topsy-turvy way in which social media is progressing, the instructions aren't very "diverse" after all. When conveying these instructions to the team, it is important that the point of Contact at our organization provides the right context to her colleagues in order to have them act correctly on te einformation. Likewise, when the information has been sufficiently acted upon (a really nice creative was designed, for example) the person passing on teh final product back to the client owes it to herself to ensure that the client's instructions have been fully satisfied with the product.
WHEN CONVEYING MESSAGES TO OTHER STAKE HOLDERS
We don't do compliance for the sake of compliance. We encourage our team to evaluate each and every bit of communication that the government or other external parties require from us and comply with them keeping in mind the spirit of the instruction and not the letter of the instruction. We often run political ads on socila media for example, and when we do so, we ensure that all disclosures are made, in a manner that makes sense in the context of the "reason" for the disclosure requirement to exist in the first place.
